Baja 1000

The 500 was so much fun, I had to go back that same year for the 1000. This time we camped on the beach in San Felipe.

Not long after getting my new 450, I had the opportunity to go to Mexico for the Baja 500. I went with the DP Racing Team and pre-ran the course the week before the race. I had a great time as we camped in the middle of no where and road all over the Baja peninsula. The course traversed beaches, mountain forests, barren deserts, and small villages.

My CRF450R

After riding for a year or more, I rode a friend’s 2004 CRF450 and was hooked. The lower center of gravity seemed to make the bike feel so much lighter and easier to ride compared to my 500. So, not long after I sold the 500 and bought a new 2005 CRF450.
